Spring is finally here and we couldn’t be more ecstatic! Winter is for the birds! But truth be told we adore our feathered friends in all seasons here at Annalee. Birds have long given inspiration for our designs. They are simply amazing creatures that bring joy and wonder to our lives. Annalee loved all animals but was always fascinated by the stunning beauty and intricacies of birds. While not as prevalent in our collection as mice, many of our bird designs are exclusives and among our most rare and detailed.
Birds make great seasonal designs because of their stunning natural beauty. They come in a wide range of colors and patterns, making them a treat for the eyes. Their melodious songs are another reason why they are so well-loved. People associate birds, their beautiful songs, and their soaring above the trees as a peaceful and calming experience and a symbol of happiness.
Birds also hold important symbolic meaning in various cultures. They are seen as a representation of freedom, strength, and rebirth. Further, many bird species display remarkable intelligence and problem-solving skills. For instance, crows, ravens, and parrots are known to use tools, understand cause-and-effect relationships, and exhibit empathy.
Well, if you couldn’t tell already, we are very excited about growing our collection of exclusive bird designs here at Annalee. Mark your calendars! We have a new exclusive 5in Goldfinch with Thistle dropping on April 6th. Please note, there are only 250 of this limited-edition design. The goldfinch is a small, colorful bird that is native to Europe, North Africa, and western Asia. In recent years, it has become an increasingly common sight in North America, as flocks of the birds have been expanding their range across the continent. The American goldfinch is known for its striking bright yellow plumage and black and white striped wings. It also is known for its acrobatic flight and cheerful, musical song.
Goldfinches are often depicted in art and literature and have been associated with various symbolic meanings. In Greek mythology, the bird is associated with the goddess Aphrodite, and was believed to have the power to bring good luck and fortune. During the Italian Renaissance, the goldfinch began appearing in many paintings as a symbol of resurrection and rebirth for the Easter season.
