In the summer of 1939, just five years after Annalee started creating dolls, The Wizard of Oz was released in theaters across the nation. This beloved classic celebrates its 80th Anniversary on August 25, 2019! There is no denying this timeless film captured national attention and so many of our hearts. It was nominated for six Oscars, including best picture and won best score with the heartfelt tune “Over the Rainbow.”

At Annalee, we believe in the timeless magic of Oz. The heartfelt tale is about connection, belonging, bravery and believing in yourself. This August, Annalee will celebrate this anniversary by putting a rare collection of Wizard of Oz characters up for auction on Annalee.com. This rare mouse series includes Dorothy, Tin Man, Cowardly Lion, Scarecrow and the Wicked Witch of the West! This set is in new condition even though it was designed over ten years ago!

The auction will be held on annalee.com from August 25 – August 30, 2019. If you would like to bid on this Annalee Museum signature Wizard of Oz set the starting bid is $75, bids must be placed in $5 increments.

The First Four – The Wizard of Oz Series


In 2018, Annalee released a charming four piece set inspired by the wonderful world of Oz. Released for Halloween, these charming trick or treaters include Dorothy, Tin Man, Scarecrow and Cowardly Lion. This set was so loved that Annalee has kept these pieces available for collectors in 2019. It is not often that seasonal designs remain in a collection so get these sweet designs before they retire!
