Scarecrows of SoundCelebrating the Foliage Season

Annalee is excited to be part of Hobo Railroad’s Harvest Time 2015 festivities once again this year!  The Annalee team created a series of fourteen “Cornstalk Critters” that make up the “Scarecrows of Sound” depicting famous musicians throughout history!  They can be enjoyed by the public throughout the four peak weeks of the foliage season, between September 19 and October 18. Scarecrow Whimsy

Several Annalee workers played a role in creating these eye-catching cornstalk critters!  From sewing felt arms and legs, to painting the faces and dressing them in costume- it was a wonderful team effort!  The faces were drawn with Annalee inspiration and were hand-painted directly onto felt the same way Annalee painted her early creations. To make the scarecrows more weather proof, they were stuffed with recycled Annalee polybags. Finally, hay was added at the cuffs and other fun areas to create an authentic scarecrow look! The scarecrows were positioned whimsically throughout the “Farmyard” at the Hobo Railroad, where people of all ages come to enjoy them!
