Grand Prize – $100 Gift Card + Love Grows Mouse
Entrant: Karen D.
Nominee: Nicole F. (Karen’s Daughter), Orange, CT
“I am nominating my daughter, Nicole, on behalf of her children. On top of the stay-at-home due to the Coronavirus, we had a house fire on March 23rd. We are currently in a rental house for up to a year while our house is rebuilt. My daughter, Nicole, is managing her 4 kids with love and understanding as they deal with the loss of their belongings and at the same time supervising their schoolwork since schools are closed. Nicole is a 3rd generation Annalee collector and her children also love their own Annalee dolls. Unfortunately we lost all our Annalee dolls in the fire. Not only is she a wonderful mom who makes her children smile and feel loved, I know she would appreciate the gift card to purchase new Annalee dolls to start rebuilding her collection.”
Runners-Up – $25 Gift Cards
Entrant: Aradhna G.
Nominee: Sarojini M. (Aradhna’s Mom), Andover, MA “My mom is working so hard on the front lines with COVID 19 as a nurse. At home , she is a loving, caring and amazing mom and grandmother. No matter how long her day has been or how much stress she has taken due to the pandemic, she still comes home with a joyful and grateful heart. She takes care of her grandaughter and cooks delicious food which brings the family together. She also takes whatever time she has and spends time with her grand-daughter. This makes me smile. Seeing her , i find my strength . She migrated from India and worked so hard to put me and my brother through college. I have never for once seen my mother complain about her aching feet for working long hour shifts . And that to me is something i really respect and acknowledge about her. She has the most cheerful spirit. She brings comfort to not only her patients but also everyone around her. She is a woman of honor and dignity. Her life experiences has taught me to love and respect everyone around me equally. Also to work hard and give back to the community.
Winning the mothers day giveaway will lift up the spirit of my mother, who serves others by risking her own life on the front lines of COVID 19. Her sacrifice to spend time with her family to serve our community is undeniably her love to serve others. It will also put a smile on her face, the face that brings smile to others.”
Entrant: Alison P.
Nominee: Alissa P. (Alison’s Mom), Charlestown, IN “My Mom goes above and beyond every day. She has helped me tremendously over the past 10 years get through all my medical needs. The first year I had 165 doctors appointments, and for everyone of them she was there. Each year they grew for the next 5 and was constantly around 120 until I had surgery. When I had surgery I almost died, but she stayed as long as she could at the hospital with me while also driving 1 1/2 hours for my sister to get to high school. When I got out and started recovery I started college as well. About 80-90 appointments I had, but she would drive me back and fourth there and to doctors appointments, which was 2 hours one way. She has traveled to different states to get me help, and continues to help me as problems have occurred again this past year. She now has to help my dad as he was in the hospital for a bit, not for the virus, but other medical things came up. She also never takes a break. She is constantly on the go, on the phone, or getting our family the essentials we need. She hardly ever complains and just pushes through it all. She is literally my hero and would love nothing more than for her to get a special gift in honor of Mother’s Day.”
Entrant: Christina C.
Nominee: Christine D. (Christina’s Mom), Phoenixville, PA “My mom is AMAZING because she was a single mom of 3 (with no help) who worked her tail off to make sure we had a roof over our head and food on the table. She worked as a waitress when we were young and managed to change professions after going to a trade school. She wanted to better all of our lives. We went from renting a tiny 3 bedroom home to finally being able to buy a 4 bedroom home, so we could each have our own room. She also went on to open her own business in 1999, which is still successful today. She is definitely one of the strongest woman I have ever met. Not only was she determined mom for us, she was always there for our friends who didn’t have the greatest parents. She had many heartfelt talks in the kitchen with our friends when we were teenagers, giving advice where they couldn’t get it from home. She is truly and amazing woman and would still give the shirt off of her back for anyone who needed it. Now that she is more financially secure, she regularly donates to our local food bank, remembering all of the people who helped her and her kids along the way. I couldn’t ask for a better mom, grandmom to our daughter, and best friend. We are truly blessed!”
Honorable Mentions – $10 Gift Cards
Entrant: Kathy L.
Nominee: Courtney S.(Kathy’s Daughter), Naples, FL “My daughter Courtney is a beautiful mommy inside and out. She is a registered nurse working through this pandemic, pregnant and working back to back twelve hour shifts. When she is home, she is a dedicated mom to her son Declan. She always has a smile on her face and a positive attitude. Her son is happy and loves his mommy. She is loving and kind to her family and patients. I can’t imagine how she has so much in her to get through these difficult times during her pregnancy with the physical and mental demands on her. I would love to show how much she is appreciated by surprising her with additions to her favorite Annalee collections.”
Entrant: Meg T.
Nominee: Maggie C.(Meg’s Mom), Fort Worth, TX “My Mom Maggie is the most amazing woman I know! She mastered raising four kids all on her own including me, the wild one. She’s always been a real class act with a wonderful sense of humor so when she was diagnosed with breast cancer for the third time I already knew she’d conquer it again like the champ she is! My Mom has loved me through it all! Even when I wasn’t strong enough to love myself. It’s because of her cheering me on and showing me through her example how to live life gracefully, keep an open heart, always be kind and give freely that I’m the woman I am today! I’ve learned from her that everyone has something to give someone no matter what and time is valuable, always say please and thank you and volunteer in your community because it builds character and is important. She always told me to be impeccable with my word and I value that. I realize I have plenty of friends but nothing compares to my amazing Mom being the best friend I will ever have!”
Entrant: Steven B.
Nominee: Tammy B., Cartersville, GA (Steven’s Mom) “My mom is my personal hero and cheerleader. When I was two years old, I was diagnosed with severe autism. All the professionals stated that I would not achieve many typical life goals. When my mom stated that I would and more, she was told she was in denial. Well, my mom spent endless hours of teaching me life skills and educational lessons, and I am proud to say that I am a college graduate. I’m so glad my mom didn’t believe one word that she was told by these professional doctors, and led with her heart. Thank God for Moms!!!!”
Entrant: Itaintez33
Nominee: (Itaintez33’s Wife) “The mom I’m about is not my mom. My mom passed away 6yrs ago. This mom I’m about to describe to you is my wife (we have 3 kids). I am a combat vet with PTSD and depression and to say I’ve put her through hell is putting it mildly. My Wife Kelly has always been there for me when I know anyone else would have ran. I’ve had anger issues (no physical abuse), and I’ve had times where I would break down and cry. I even attempted suicide 9yrs ago and through this all she has stood strong by my side and our kids could not be more blessed to call her mom. (I actually kid around some times and call myself her 4th kid).”
Entrant: Froglova
Nominee: (Froglova’s Mom) “My Mom has always been an amazing Mom! She is there for me and my sister whenever we need her, or to just spend time together. The most recent time my Mom went above and beyond for me was these past few months. In February my service dog Zoie became extremely ill and was fighting for her life. Zoie was in and out of the hospital for at least a month. As Zoie got sicker so did I. My mom moved in with us and took my dog to the vet daily, helped with laundry and other household chores, and handled the multiple calls a day from our team of vets so that I could still work. When the vets in Maine could not figure out what was causing Zoie’s illness my Mom took us on multiple trips down to Tufts veterinary school, most of which were in the middle of a snow storm. Every vet that we saw was amazed by how my Mom stepped up to help us, but to me I was not. This is just the kind of Mom that she is, and just the most recent time my Mom has done everything in her power to help me. She has always gone above and beyond to fight for me when times are tough, and when times are good she is always there to spend time with me and just have fun. Without my Mom’s help through life I would not be where I am today. Zoie is now back to herself and is starting to ween off of her medications. Every day I am grateful that I didn’t have to say good bye to Zoie, and for my amazing Mom that helped make this possible! My mom has been collecting Annalee Dolls throughout her life and loves to put them out for each of the holidays. Whenever I put out my own Annalee Dolls I can not help but think of my Mom. I am very sentimental, just like my Mom, and I know that if she were to win anything through this contest she would think of me and Zoie every time she looked at it.”
Entrant: Danielle D.
Nominee: (Danielle’s Mom), Tigard, OR “My mom deserves to win this shopping spree because she has spent her entire life making sure my brother and I, and now our babies are taken care of. She gives selflessly to everyone and never expects anything in return. She volunteers to help animals in her free time and raise money and awareness for the shelters in her town. A devoted wife, mother and now grandma who deserves to spoil herself with her favorite thing, Annalees!”
Entrant: Sjrubio
Nominee: (Sjrubio’s Mom) “My mom is an amazing woman that has been through more trials than anyone should have to stand up to. She is disabled, my father is disabled, she helps raise an autistic granddaughter and she still managed to be by my side in the hospital for 20 days last fall and every day since while I’ve recovered from a brain tumor surgery that caused me to learn everything again from scratch. She’s my superhero and the glue that holds me together sometimes. I literally would not be here without her, as she pushed until my doctor figured it out. She loves animals of all kinds and feeds every stray that comes to our neighborhood. She loves annalee products and winning would most likely make her mother’s day. “
Entrant: Darlene A.
Nominee: Beatriz G.(Darlene’s Mom), Las Vegas, NV “My mother always has a way to make me feel safe and secure. I always felt like my mom can sense when things are not okay because I would receive a phone call or text. I know in some way we are vibrationally connected. In a way I want to cry while I am writing this. My mother not only brings joy to myself but to my children. She is an excellent grandmother. She always has loving and uplifting words for us and a home cooked meal. My mother has dedicated her entire life and career to others. She is a nurse and has not thought twice about quitting or changing careers. She always puts others first and she taught us that as kids that we are here to serve others. She has sacrificed everything for my four siblings and I. She is brave and courageous for leaving my abusive father and raising us on her own and for that I will always be grateful.”
